As we mentioned in our other post about Myanmar/Burma, the country has one of the worst records for human rights abuses. All you have to do is google "Myanmar" or "Burma" and "Human Rights" and you'll find countless stories about the atrocities that were committed and that still are being committed.
It's one thing to hear about oppressive governments and their policies, but it's quite another to see those affected. It is much harder to turn a blind eye when the numbers become faces ... and when the faces become names.
